I am a Senior Analyst at the Centre for Sustainable Energy with extensive research expertise covering fuel poverty, retrofitting the existing housing stock, behavioural change and scheme evaluation.
I managed Climate Change West, promoting awareness of climate change to people in the former Avon area through a range of innovative engagement techniques designed to appeal to their psychological needs. This exciting multi-partner project used an innovative ‘stop and talk’ mechanism to engage consumers in the four main retail centres in the Avon area. I have also been responsible for several small studies examining consumer switching behaviour. In particular focussing on the traits that underpin switching behaviour and the impacts that switching can have on actual fuel costs.
I currently lead a number of research projects examining issues related to fuel poverty, energy markets, hard to treat homes and climate change strategies. I was recently involved in energy modelling work for the WWF ‘How Low?’ study examining the cost effective measures that could be applied to the housing stock by 2020 and all measures by 2050. This study also examined the cost of these measures, their value to the economy, the energy savings associated with this activity and the policies that could support their implementation.
I am also a member of the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Homes Fuel Poverty Strategy Group, National Right to Fuel Campaign, and Public Utilities Access Forum.
